I think this sort of thing done in the style of an "open thread" could work in a less competitive ecosystem, but the problem is that many other social media sites are built specifically around shitposts and function as "shitpost attractors" which limit the appeal of DW for same

now if only DW and WP's suitability for longform could convince people to stop doing fucking tweet threads
